What is slowed down? The running blueMail or Windows 2000?

The DOS version may be uncooperative due to the clock function (i.e. its
implementation in PDCurses).

I figured out with another DOS programm under Windows 2000 that running in a
box will make some programs almost unusable, because Windows 2000 doesn't
give much processor time to the DOS box (and making it a full size window
will give 100% to it making the rest of the system slow down).
