Indeed.  Not just backscatter, but forged headers of all kinds.  That's 
why I wrote Spamitarium 
(http://orderamidchaos.com/bogofilter/spamitarium), a pre-filter that 
can be used with bogofilter.  I rarely receive backscatter now.
