Stop CGP under Mac OS X

Every time I try to stop CGP via either Terminal (sudo /Library/StartupItems/CommuniGatePro/CommuniGatePro stop) or Activity Monitor, it does shut down, but relaunches immediately. How can I tell it to quit and not relaunch? I need to replace one of its Setting files.
