Hiya, My backspace key is mapped to ^?, which is in turn mapped to the keysym DEL. My delete key is mapped to ^[[3~. Unfortunately, cone insists on receiving a '^h' character for backward-delete-char operations. I'm certainly not going to configure my terminal for this, as it would break all the applications (such as emacs) which use ctrl-h for operations such as 'help'. I've seen various other people bring this up on the list, and they've been told it's a "configuration issue". This isn't so much a "configuration issue" as an ongoing problem, but I do know that the behavior of my terminal is standard behavior to pretty much all linux distributions, and has been for several years after various campaigning by certain groups (including debian) to standardise terminal behavior. Emacs uses 'ctrl-h' for 'help', which is perfectly reasonable, since there's no reason why hitting 'ctrl-h' should create the same keysym as hitting backspace.
