Of course not.  After a search condition finds the message, typically the 
next filtering step will move, tag, or delete the selected messages.  Then, 
the next filtering step selects more messages, etc…

I don't think you fully understand how the filtering language works.  There 
are two classes of filtering commands.  The first class selects messages 
based on some criteria.  The next class of filtering commands does something 
with currently selected messages: move them, delete them, or tag them.

The filtering instructions alternate between the two classes of 
instructions.  Select, then action.  Select, then action.  And so on.  
There's really no concept of "stop", in this paradigm.  It's completely and 
utterly meaningless.
