ldap configuration

Hi all,

I'm pretty new to Cone but I'm pretty with it so far.
Coming from the spoiled GUI world I got used to features like
auto-completion of addresses as I type them in. Since I believed such a
feature was probably not implemented (*), I decided to install an ldap
directory at least to have the addresses for all my colleagues.

Unfortunately it seems that when I save the configuration for the ldap
directory it won't save anything. My configuration is the following:

Directory name: CERN
LDAP server hostname: ldap.cern.ch
LDAP userid (optional):
LDAP password (optional):
LDAP suffix/root: o=CERN,c=CH

I tried also quoting the suffix/root being afraid that it wouldn't pick up
the configuration, but no hope.
Any ideas?

(*) found out later: if the address book is populated and a nickname is
chosen than the full address will be included.
