LDAP search scope

Hello every one,

I am trying to add an LDAP address book my cone mail client. However, it seems that the LDAP search request sent by cone uses a "base" scope instead of the default "subtree" scope, which causes the LDAP server to return only the base node which does not contain any e-mail address. As a result, my newly created address book is empty.

Should this behavior be expected? How can I have a thinner control on the LDAP search parameters used by cone?

Here is the log:

slapd[7852]: conn=1044 op=0 SRCH base="dc=my_domain,dc=my_tld" scope=0 deref=0 filter="(objectClass=*)"
slapd[7852]: conn=1044 op=0 SEARCH RESULT tag=101 err=0 nentries=1 text=

(I have erased my domain name.) Notice the "scope=0" which means "base" scope, instead of the default "scope=2" for "subtree". There is one entry returned, which is my LDAP domain node, and does not contain any e-mail address.

Kind regards,

Nicolas Canceill
