install questions

I've seen a little about what's been written about e-filter and eps, and
I wanted to try it, but there doesn't seem to be any documentation of
how to install it. I'm getting errors while trying to do "make" on
e-filter 0.2 "INTERFACE_STDIN undeclared [...]".

Is there any documentation out there? Or could at least someone give me
some hints on what steps to take to try out eps/e-filter?

Are there any mailarchive for this list?

Perhaps I'm asking for too much, I don't hope so :-)
