I'm just a user, but perhaps that will make my response more
convincing.  It seems to me reasonable questions get reasonable
answers; the one you cited was not a reasonable question.  As I recall
the original, only some of which was cited, it was on the order of "I
don't have time to read anything, just tell me how it works."

I once posted a question that got a slightly testy response from a
list member, but not from the developers (and I don't think the
response you cited was from a developer).

On the other hand, if you think someone is obligated to support you,
you are mistaken.  You probably knew that, but your tone suggests
otherwise.
