Is it "complaining" or just stating the truth to those who *do* complain 
that use of the exim4 name is a Debian choice that "upstream" has no 
influence over?

The complaints come from your users. That does not mean that you're in 
the wrong, it just means that a Debian decision 25ya has led to Debian 
users being confused today. As you've noted, it is an entirely 
manageable circumstance as long as users know what's going on, and 
likely less problematic than trying to unmake that old choice.

I think this reflects an ignorance of how many instances of CPanel are 
out there, running on EL-derived distros.
