In testing, I find that this case (a displayname that looks like a localpart@domain, but not quoted)
should have resulted in a log message:

   1999-03-02 09:44:33 10HmaX-000000005vi-0000 qualify/rewrite: malformed address: <[email protected]> may not follow [email protected]

I note that this code was adjusted after 4.97 (what are you running?)  :-

+JH/15 Bug 3061: Ensure a log line is written for a malformed address in a
+      header, when parsing for address-qualification.  Previously one was only
+      written if there were rewrite rules.

If you're on 4.97 or earlier, I'll call this one "already addressed".
