Piped command and Maildir delivery

Can mail delivery be both the the default Maildir (as if no pipe command  
is used), yet still use .procmailrc?  I want to have mail delivered the  
way Vexim does, when not using a pipe command, yet, I need to filter  
certain messages out for archiving on the mail server.  I used to do that  
with sendmail and procmail.  Now with Exim, and Vexim, I like the way mail  
is delivered and I can interface with dovecot through the MySQL  
configuration.  However, it seems to me that you can only do one or the  
other (Maildir or pipe to procmail).
