Well, guess a bit of it is selfmade:

The mainpage shows the last release is from March 2007 - thats 2 1/2 
Year. If i would be new to this it would look pretty dead. And a bit 
down the release of 1.5 is still mentioned which is nearly 5 years old.

The "Search our bugs database and TODO list link" is ... interessting - 
nice wedding hairstyles.

Credits is completely dead!

The wiki isn't any better. Its not really maintained at all - its filled 
with spam all over.

So, from the outside it looks dead and from the inside (as a list 
subscriber) there isn't much activity since the announcement of a 
complete rewrite and a change of the design.

But probably thats just my point of view.
