I love Open Source. This is why I distributed vexim in the first place
:)
People told me hat I should sell it and try to make money on it. That
didn't feel right.

I'm SO glad that Arne Schirmacher made hat page - I had no idea that
existed! Arne, if you're on the list and would like write access to the
CVS/SVN repository, let me know.

I'm going over the website not to fix the problems. The bug tracker
hasn't worked for over a year. It's on my todo list, but I just have far
too much other stuff to do :(

vexim isn't dead. I ran a short survey last year, and found that vexim
is used on almost 4,000 domains, with almost 40,000 total end users.
This is huge!

I wish I had more time to dedicate to improving the UI, adding features
(like LDAP backend support). I've been out of time for about 3 years now
since I started at Google.

The website will be fixed up a bit, the credits page is important and
needs to be up there for sure. If anyone would like to contribute
(directly, I'll give you write access to the CVS/SVN repo), let me know.

There is also a Python version planned, but we only made very limited
headway into this so far. And even the language choice has been debated
at length :) The next version of vexim, which will happen - there are
many many feature requests, all of them excellent - needs to be rock
solid. For that, we need developers. I'm even happy to open up the
language debate!
