from my experience (mediawiki, moinmoin, dokuwiki) i can really
recommend dokuwiki. it's really easy to install, has access control
built in (no spam!) and lots of plugins/themes. it's also more "general
purpose" than mediawiki, you can easily make it look like a regular
homepage. and it's even got a blog plugin ;-)

mediawiki looks always the same, is mostly geared towards us as the
wikipedia wiki. moinmoin is kind of akward to install and maintain and
was quite picky about config errors.
