For me this sounds great. I'm used to work with svn but also git is a
good choice ;o)

Why decide for a MVC-pattern? Are Zend framework developed sites
redistributable as OSS or are there any licence discussions the normal
way?

If I can contribute something - feel free to ask. My best work could be
some database optimizations (views, triggers, stored procedures ...)
but that would assume MySQL as db backend. BTW my preferred dbms.
