It seems to have issues with the current Tk/Tcl CVS tree (it works right with the Fedora Core 2 8.4.6): bad variable name "exmh(version)": upvar won't create a scalar variable that looks like an array element while executing "global $var" (procedure "installSed" line 40) invoked from within "installSed" (procedure "installPatch" line 5) invoked from within "installPatch" invoked from within ".rim.buttons.patch invoke" ("uplevel" body line 1) invoked from within "uplevel #0 [list $w invoke]" (procedure "tk::ButtonUp" line 22) invoked from within "tk::ButtonUp .rim.buttons.patch" (command bound to event) > AM getting off my duff and merging in a patch to lib/exwin.tcl that > allows the ftoc and/or msg sections to be separate windows entirely. OK, a *first pass* is in there. Two new buttons on the 'Windows and Scrolling' Preferences pane. What works: Setting the button separates the corresponding piece into a separate pane. What doesn't work: 1) The little diamond resizer is still *quite* wonky, as it gets confused if an expected section isn't in the main window. Most unexpected result - changing the number of lines in the FToc window by moving the resizer in the fdisp/msg window, and leaving dead space on the bottom of the FToc window.. I've *partly* hacked up support so you get a resizer on the FToc if the Msg pane isn't there, but it's not perfect... 2) If you detach *both* the FToc and Msg windows, the main window doesn't resize itself, but leaves acres of blank space. 3) There's still a few odd geometry issues (sometimes resizing the Ftoc will result in a separate Msg window suddenly becoming zero pixels wide) that I need to beat up, and making it remember toplevel geometries.. For right now, the "most workable" config is to use a detached Msg pane, but leave the FToc where is it - that seems to avoid many of the issues. If you find something ELSE broken, or have a fix for one of the above, let me know.. I'll be offline till mondya.. _______________________________________________ Exmh-workers mailing list [email protected] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/exmh-workers
