Re: pre-announce exmh-2.7.2

I've just moved to using a separate Msg window (something I've wanted for 
ages! It's great). The way I tend to work is to have a small folder cache 
containing the folders I use a lot, and then inc most mail into inbox, then 
refile messages as I read them, most to a folder "D" which I purge as it fills 
up (this allows me to look back at deleted email for a few days. Is there an 
easy way to make the "Delete" operation actually do a "Move to folder +D"?).
Before I had a separate Msg window, when the mouse was over the folder cache 
(having just right clicked to move the previous message) I could use key 
bindings to do things like scrolling the the message (with the cursor keys), 
move a message to the selected folder, go to next message etc (I use a laptop 
a lot of the time, so key bindings are useful!).
Now these only work when the mouse is over the Msg window.
Could there be an option to make the key bindings available in all windows?

Also, I've noticed that the split of the action buttons between Ftoc and Msg 
doesn't always work well. Could there be a an option to request that the Msg 
buttons are replicated in (or maybe even moved to) the Ftoc window?
E.g. I've right clicked to move a message to a folder, so the Ftoc line has 
gone yellow, and the next message has been selected. I later decide that I 
need to do some more work on it, so want to Unmark it. I reselect the message, 
but to do the UnMark, I have to move to the Msg window :-(
I generally want all folder operations in the Ftoc window.
In fact I very rarely want to put the mouse in the Msg window.

Related to this, I'd like raising of the window with the Ftoc to cause the Msg 
window to be raised.


An unrelated problem is that if a folder is managed behind exmh's back, it no 
longer gets the "new message" count right if there are no (new?) messages.
I use SA to pre-sort email into spam folders based on the SA score.
I then browse the Ftoc for the spam folders to see if there is anything I 
might want to read, and when all that remains is junk, I run a command which 
clears the folder. If I re-select that folder, it shows an Ftoc with no 
messages, but the folder cache shows the old number of new messages. It is 
ONLY when there are 0 new messages -- when there are any actual new messages, 
it gets it right.
