Well, I tried the browser-remote script idea, the syntax above, and 
the -new-tab syntax.  Experimentation shows me that any of those will 
work, provided that exmh and firefox are running on the same head of 
my two headed display.  Nothing works when firefox runs on :0.1 and 
exmh runs on :0.0
