This is likely to be Tk searching through the fonts in your X server
Desperately trying to find a way to display the gb2312 character set.

One could imagine filtering against these kinds of messages in the
MIME handling. I'm not sure how to get Tk to not try so hard to
Display characters.

Subject: LANG setting and X server hang

I am seeing the X server hang completely when trying to open this
email message:

	http://www.cs.indiana.edu/~robh/hangs_x.txt

This is with 2.7.2 under Red Hat EL4. As soon as you open the message,
the X server goes to 100% CPU and stops responding. Killing exmh at
that
point has no effect and I have to kill the X server to recover. Quite
anti-social behavior...

The interesting thing is that this happens with LANG=en_US.UTF-8 but not
when I unset LANG. My current workaround is to just unset LANG before
I start exmh. This is the only message I've seen that causes this
behavior but I have received this same junk message several times over
the
past couple weeks so it was getting quite annoying.

Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? This is with a fully
up2date RHEL4 system.

Thanks,

	--Rob
