I had to do this fairly late in my .xsession file:

# Make Tk/Tcl happy
xhost -si:localuser:valdis
exec /usr/local/bin/e16

How you'd do that for KDE or Gnome I have no idea - I've been using
Enlightenment as my window manager for years, and won't give it up until
somebody pries it from my cold dead keyboard. :)

Nothing in the RedHat bugzilla about this, oddly enough.

Been there, done that.  Not sure what's happening there - if it hits the
main windows, moving out-and-back will fix it.  If it locks up popping up
a new PGP Passphrase window, it's DOA and nothing short of quitting and
restarting will bring it back.

I *suspect* this is somehow related to the 'scim' software, as it started
about the same time as I configured it as an input manager.  I haven't gotten
ambitious enough to disable it to verify.  Since I'm *not* a Gnome or KDE
user, scim and/or xorg are the likely culprits - but a quick check of the
RedHat bugzilla didn't find any useful-looking bug reports.
