BgRegister X server insecure

I've been using exmh-2.7.2 on RH9 (and before that, RH7.3) for years with no 
xauth problems. Recently, I got a new computer and installed FC6. Now I get 
that dreaded message in the subject line. It seems that xauth has changed 
between the two versions of linux, as now the authority file is in /tmp/, 
whereas under RH9 if I issue the xauth command, it informs me that it is using 
the .Xauthority file in my home directory.

Does anyone have exmh running under FC6? If so, how was xauth configured?
