It worked fine for me when what I was running was close to F9.  I'm
currently at F10-and-a-bit, and it's still running fine.  I admit not
being sure what could have broken between F6 and F9.

I have *no* idea why you got a message that you were missing 'htmlview',
since there's no reference to it anywhere in the exmh source tree, and
it's got its own (somewhat baroque) HTML display code.
