I could echo Bob quite precisely; I also switched from VMS way back about 20 years ago. I have an advantage over colleagues who cannot find anything over a week old. I can find anything up to 20 years age. When there is a disagreement re history of some project, I take the relevant folder, mhonarc it, and put it on my web server.
