Heheh.  I managed to overlook 1826 when I glanced for related issues. 

And that's a shame, because I couldn't think of a clever way to write
a regression test that terminates a switch mid-stream so that we can
try to restart it short of teaching Subversion to honor environment
variables which tell it to bail out purposely at certain points.
Of course, there's just such a clever recipe in issue #1826.

So, I tell ya what.  I'll task myself with the creation of that test
case, based on the one in issue #1826.
