Charles, thanks for your reply. I agree with the wisdom of not bypassing
the subscription confirmation request. Unfortunately, I've been unable
to persuade my user that it's in her best interest to continue using
this system. She wants to force users into the subscription system, and
consequently, I'm trying to find a way to do it.

That bypasses the closed-loop confirmation, and opens your list up to
abuse --
anyone can subscribe anyone without their consent.

We generally try not to help people bypass the anti-abuse features of
ezmlm.
