remote admin, not moderators

I'm trying to setup a list where remote admin are not bothered
with (confused by) moderation messages. Is that possible? The
doc suggests the following (-9) would work

ezmlm-make $lhome/$list ~/.qmail-list-$list $list list.y.org
ezmlm-make -+ -e -ilmrtx -5 $own -9 $lhome/admin $lhome/$list $HOME/.qmail-list-$list
for mklist_d in accepted pending rejected subscribers unconfirmed; do
        mkdir -p $lhome/$list/admin/$mklist_d ; done
ezmlm-sub $lhome/$list/admin $adm

but with a -list request, $adm gets

 ezmlm-manage: fatal: Command allowed only to moderators

I feel like I'm trying too hard. What can I do to make it work?
