You can make a huge dent in the problem by using code from AlterMime =20
http://www.pldaniels.com/altermime/altermime-0.3-dev.tar.gz

Here are some essential flags I use when running it with ezmlm-idx in ezmlm=
rc=20
(it does a much better job than ezmlm-idx, and never damages messages when =
it=20
can't work out their structure):
=2D-force-for-bad-html=20
=2D-disclaimer=3D<#D#>/text/trailer=20
=2D-htmltoo

It would be best to have this capability in ezmlm-idx so admins don't have =
to=20
go through hoops to get leader/trailer functions working well.

Yes, web links for moderation messages, AND for confirm messages (ezmlm-
confirm).  For reference, I use a lightly-modified copy of ezconfirm.pl by=
=20
Peter Green, which handles web-based confirmation of subscribe/unsubscribe,=
=20
and this mechanism could be extended and embedded into the core software.

A group leader wishes to have an OpenOffice Impress (PowerPoint) file=20
describing their organization automatically sent to new subscribers, as par=
t=20
of a membership package. The also have a set of forms they would like the=
=20
user to fill out to introduce themselves - those are PDF forms, and they ar=
e=20
put into a zip file.

When ezmlm-idx parses the text/sub-ok, it should look in a new directory=20
called "files", and attach any file it finds with the prefix "sub-ok". For=
=20
example,=20

files/
  sub-ok.ppt
  sub-ok.zip
