You also need to build the list indices by running:

ezmlm-archive /var/vpopmail/domains/hforge.org/itools

The first number is the count of messages distributed so far, which is
also the number of the last message in the archive.  The second number
is the cumulative message body size that has been distributed, in kB*4.
