Chris,

FreeBSD's fetchmail port maintainer and I have worked to fix this bug in
FreeBSD's port version 6.4.12_1, for now it's only on the trunk, and I
have not yet requested to merge back to quarterly, but might if it
proves to work out for everyone, or else in January 2021 the fix will
propagate to quarterly.
