Works for me flawless since mid-August or so on Fedora for both 
Google and Microsoft accounts, for downloading (IMAP, fetchmail) 
and sending (SMTP, mutt).

The only change in the fetchmail and mutt configurations was to 
direct the connection to localhost:<port>, with a local password 
(not the one on servers), without encryption. Of course, after 
configuring email-oauth2-proxy. :-)
