That's interesting; I hadn't heard of that before, but it does explain the
behaviour you're seeing.  So it looks like you'll have to stay under that
limit (or buy a bigger limit, if they support that).  Presumably this is only
an issue while you retrieve your old mail; after you're "caught up" you'll
only be pulling down new mail each day (with a sane getmail configuration,
anyway).

Not sure how - getmail doesn't have such a feature ;).  Of course you can just
run getmail until it fails to connect, then have it wait until the next day to
start again.
