XOAUTH2 on O365

Hello All

I wonder if anyone has insight into using getmail with Microsoft's 365 
platform?

In October MS are forcing everyone to use XOAUTH2: Link

Currently we use getmail to pull email down from a 365 mailbox to feed 
into Request Tracker.

I saw Gmail XOAUTH2 support was added in v5.6:

     -fix references to version 4 in README.  Thanks: Daniel Kahn Gillmor.
     -add Gmail-specific XOAUTH2 login support for IMAP.  Thanks: Stefan Krah.

I tried to adapt this for O365 but without any success.
