(socket error during connect ([Errno -2] Name or service not known))

  Hello everybody,

 I have been using getmail for many years. Suddenly
my configuration (ubuntu
 18.04 + dovecot + getmail 5.5) stopped
working.

 Trying to launch the command from the command line: / usr /
bin / getmail
 -r /home/server/.getmail/getmailrc4

 The system replies
to me: getmail version 5.5 Copyright (C) 1998-2012
 Charles Cazabon.
Licensed under the GNU GPL version 2. SimpleIMAPRetriever:
 xxx @
xxxxxxxx.xx @ imap.xxxxxxxxx.xx: 143: getmailrc4: operation error

(socket error during connect ([Errno -2] Name or service not known)) 0

messages (0 bytes) retrieved, 0 skipped

 I do not find online
documentation on this error number 2. Can anyone tell
 me what it refers
to? Dovecot seems to work, in fact I view and open the
 old emails on
the server, but it doesn't download the new ones
