That is a DNS lookup error (or more rarely, a failure to look up a service
name).

Perhaps your mail provider has deprecated the imap.xxxxxxxxx.xx name in favour
of something else - we can't tell, because you mangled it.  This is exactly
why I encourage users to supply data with nothing obfuscated other than
passwords.

Dovecot doesn't need to look up the mail server name in DNS, and you might be
using a different hostname to connect to its web interface - we can't tell.
