So my initial response would have been the right one:

Only in second instance I thought you meant the way I worded that 
variable %(recipient).

Anyway, it's a pitty to me you don't think it a good idea to extend 
Getmail with such filter option.

Will continue using Getmail than the way I'm doing it now.
Because it's very much worth it.
