Ego?  Has nothing to do with it.  I have provided multiple reasons why the
name change should have been done from the start, and which should at least be
done now: user confusion, reputational harm, imposition of costs on unrelated
external parties, etc.

Neither you, Roland, or anyone else has substantively responded to those
concerns.

I have spent hours painstakingly and politely explaining everything about
this issue to the people involved.  I have expressed my frustration with their
completely ignoring the issues I raise and their claiming equal rights to the
name of my project.  I have done this in the spirit of cooperation and to help
my users.

If that's being rude in your book, then clearly most of the world doesn't use
the word the way you do.
