Thanks for this lead, I spent quite a bit of time searching the internet,
but I either didn't find this one or more likely overlooked it.  Since
Pieter's method appears to be more direct and precisely applicable to my
situation, I'll try that first.  This project certainly may provide clues
for someone else who can't use Pieter's method for whatever reason.
