It's not just Linode addresses; small mail service operators of all types are constantly dealing with this crap from the big providers (Gmail, Outlook/13 other names MS has for it, Yahoo, etc). They impose draconian filtering and change their rules and setups constantly, all of which is trade secret so the rest of us are left guessing as to how to maximize our "deliverability" to those services. It's bad enough for private mail, it's ten times worse when you're running mailing lists. Email used to be *about* "deliverability". You had it by default. Now Gmail goes out of its way to make life difficult for everyone else -- imagine that, it drives people to use Gmail. I've had my Linode for almost 20 years. and in that time my machine has never sent a single spam message. And yet they still decide to make life difficult for me. There's not a lot I (or other small providers) can do about this.
