Can getmail only poll messages received after some specific date?

Hi there,

I want to use Getmail to poll my gmail messages to dovecot Maildir. Cause I'v been using gmail for a really long time, so many messages in the inbox, I don't want to poll all those messages to dovecot, ONLY want to set a specific date, and let Getmail poll the messages after that day.
For example: I want Getmail to poll my gmail inbox messages that recieved after 2021-01-01.
Can Getmail support this? Cause for most of the time , messages that really old , are useless, or we don't have so much local disk space to store these old messages.
I've read the help on the Getmail website and googled a lot ,but can't find anything helpfull.
