Just a bit of netiquette/mailing list etiquette - you may have trouble getting
responses from people on lists when you post long messages full of extraneous
information and not even any paragraphs etc to make it easier to read.

Instead, quote a minimum of the message you're replying to - the amount needed
for context understanding your response - and then a clear, straightforward
statement of your response -- only the relevant detail.

To actually respond to your message...

Nobody said that.  You are unlikely to get a useful response from Spectrum
when you tell them anything like this.

Please stop trying to use that server hostname.  It is not correct, and
getmail is *not* working when you try it.  All you're doing by mentioning it
is throwing the people who are trying to help you a red herring.  Forget you
ever saw that name.

Those two lines are *all* you should be showing anyone.  They clearly indicate
that you are trying to connect to an IMAP-over-TLS server at mail.spectrum.net
(which is correct) and that you are then getting an authentication error.

"Invalid username or password" means exactly what it says - that message is
coming from the Spectrum server.

All of the dozens of extra lines of text you're including in these emails is
just hiding the actual problem, and preventing people from being able to help
you -- 99% of people are going to just scan it and give up before they
actually manage to extract any useful info from your emails.

You do not have a getmail problem.  You have a Spectrum login/password
problem.  No one on the getmail users' list can help you with this.  Please
talk to Spectrum and tell them *exactly* that, with no extra irrelevant
detail.  If you use this config with any other email software, you will get
exactly the same login/password error.
