Greetings: I've noticed a slight decrease in filtering effectiveness when you jam too many messages into two few ifile categories. Those halfwit Nigerian give-me-your-bank-account messages were sneaking through until I finally separated them into their own directory and ifile category. ifile was a real timesaver here; I grabbed 10 messages that had gotten through, used them to create a small .idata using the category "fraud", added some valid mail as a comparison, and ran ifile against my entire spam collection to find anything similar. This gave me just over 1000 hits with very few false matches. Moving those 1000 messages into the fraud category and recreating .idata has effectively weeded those puppies out. I'm going to do the same thing using two other categories, one for "improve your credit/make money" crap, and the other for porno messages. The wording seems just different enough to justify it. -- Karl Vogel ASC/YCOA, Wright-Patterson AFB, OH 45433 [email protected] http://www.dnaco.net/~vogelke Sign in a Pennsylvania cemetery: "Persons are prohibited from picking flowers from any but their own graves"
