Has anyone tried writing a <insert your favorite scripting language here> script to pre-process mail so as to identify common spam features, such as those that SpamAssassin and POPFile use? There's a lot that can be done. Converting Yo<kc34sma21py2>uve rea<khuyowp1wuizl>d about them in the to Youve BADHTMLTAG read BADHTMLTAG about them in the would certainly help in identifying spam. There are hundreds of such features that could be added that would greatly improve ifile (or any spam filtering software, for that matter :). Writing it as a separate script would make it more flexible so that new spam tricks could be easily added as they are discovered.
