No effect from -h option?

I am wondering if I understand the meaning of the -h option correctly.
I ran some experiments with and without -h and noticed, to my
surprise, that the results were identical. Upon further examination,
the .idata file created in those experiments were identical with and
without the -h option, too. When exactly is -h supposed to have any
effect?

 $ ifile -p -h <<HERE
 > From: me
 > To: you
 > Subject: test
 > 
 > testing
 > HERE
 Reading message from standard input...
 (1,testing) (1,test) 

 $ ifile -p <<HERE
 > From: me
 > To: you
 > Subject: test
 > 
 > testing
 > HERE
 Reading message from standard input...
 (1,subject) (1,testing) (1,test) 

This isn't really consistent with my expectation, and in fact would
seem to indicate that the parsing is quite different from what the
documentation says. But maybe I misunderstand?
