how about the accuracy?  do you count messages as they are filed in
correctly/incorrectly?  if not, you might want to try the refiling
approach as demonstrated in the *-mh example scripts of the
distribution, which is what i do with shell scripts called from
~/.procmailrc.

i used to have around 30 categories because i wanted to ifile into the
respective destinations, and it was educating to check ifiles
recommendations, but it wasn't my style of working thru emails, so i
reduced ifiles task to spam-detection.  it does this very well.
