TFBW> Information about reading is best obtained by some other TFBW> channel entirely, such as HTML mail and web bugs. I'm coming to the conclusion that it is high time that the Good Netkeeping Seal of Approval was extended from NUAs to MUAs. <URL:http://www.xs4all.nl./~js/gnksa/> I'd welcome the following GNKSoA:MUA quality criteria for starters: 1. Don't fetch external content when displaying messages. (e.g. For "text/html" body parts, don't fetch external images, style sheets, or sounds.) Fetching a message from a message store should not cause an MUA to then automatically fetch something else, from somewhere else, specified by the sender of the message. 2. Always use the declared MIME content type, never the declared name, to determine how to display a body part. But this is message content, not message transport, and is tangential to the discussion at hand.
