Current problems with BincIMAP

Hey Andreas,

As I mentioned in passing on the users list, there's some problems I'm 
experiencing with BincIMAP that I'd like to bring up.

1.  Continual server timeouts and errors when using KMail.

I reported this one as a KMail bug, set them up some test accounts, and they 
confirmed that it was because of strange output from the server.  Details 
follow:

"You're right as it was easy to reproduce. Your server is completely broken as 
it seems. The following is a short part of the communication:

23 STATUS "INBOX/Trash" (UNSEEN)
* STATUS "INBOX/Trash" (UNSEEN 0)
23 OK STATUS completed
24 NOOP
* BYE Invalid Mailbox, /new/: No such file or directory

As you can see your server responds after some time to a normal NOOP command 
(which is only emitted to keep the connection open) with a BYE answer and an 
error message. Therefore the connection is closed by kmail."

This is likely responsible for the other client issues I'm seeing, though they 
are less frequent and not at all verbose.


2.  Squirrelmail timeouts.

Squirrelmail generally works fine, but occasionally times out when loading the 
folder list.  This seems to happen when I'm not actually using the interface, 
but just leave it open for a few hours with it autoreloading the folder list 
once a minute.  This is especially a problem for clients using Squirrelmail 
to notify them of new mail, because that stops working when the folder list 
fails to load (it no longer reloads after that).


3.  Something else, but I can't remember it at present so it probably wasn't 
too important.  I'll post if I recall it.


Our main mail server (with all our clients) will be running BincIMAP through 
the week (switching it over to Dovecot next weekend), so I will be happy to 
set up test accounts for you to look at if required - in case the problem is 
Gentoo-specific (I'm currently using the version provided in the stable tree 
of Gentoo packages, compiled from source of course, but something might be 
stupid in the build script).  I kinda doubt it, but let me know, I can 
provide as full of details as necessary with regards to how it is built, any 
patches that are applied, etc. if you believe the problem to be
