Maybe http://lifewithbincimap.org/index.php/Main/WhatIsADepot?

The mail thread containing the following message
http://www.bincimap.andreas.hanssen.name/archive/?0::1048.

Finally Maildir++2IMAPdir.pl script
(https://src.bincimap.org/trunk/scripts/Maildir++2IMAPdir.pl) that
converts a Maildir++ depot to an IMAPdir depot, and which creates symbolic
links from the Maildir++ depot to the IMAPdir depot.
