I don't know - it's scrolled out of sight!

OK, I've rebuilt the RPM and captured the output. I believe these are 
the relevant lines:

checking for OpenSSL includes... not found
checking for OpenSSL libraries... not found
configure: WARNING: Unable to find the ssl library which is part of 
OpenSSL. You want want to look up the FAQ to learn more about this
  requirement and how to deal with it. For now, SSL is disabled.

Doh, looks like I've not got the openssl headers installed on this box:

[root@dude SRPMS]# rpm -qa | grep -i ssl
pyOpenSSL-0.6-1.p24.4
openssl-0.9.7f-7
mod_ssl-2.0.54-10
openssl097a-0.9.7a-3

I'll install openssl-dev and rebuild the RPM again.
