I meant: the same .courier file does not need to be repeatedly created by a  
cron job, if it disappears for some mysterious reason.

And it can create the maildir, and the .courier file together, at the same  
time. Something has to create the maildir. Whatever that something is it can  
also create the .courier file.

From what I can see, plusses are used as email address extensions far more  
often than dashes.
